1961: Edith struggles to bear the weight of her partner of 50 years' death and the denial of rights to be
with her lover after death as a non-family member.
1972: Linda meets and falls in love with Amy, a very butch lesbian, much to the disapproval of her other
lesbian cohorts.
2000: Fran and Kal want to have a baby and are left with the decisions and doubts of going to a sperm
bank.
