"No Hour Of
TV Is
More Gripping
Than ER." - Time
I first wrote E.R. backin 1974 asa record of my experiences asa medical student ina hospital emergency room. But it was not
until thefall of 1994, 20 years later, that these stories appeared
asa new television series. That must surely be thelongest creative gestationin modern television, but it was worth it.
Audiences found theshowto be fast paced, fresh andreal, andit drewa loyal following from its very first
episode. But if thepast was remarkable thefuture was even more so: none of us involvedin those early days of E.R. could
have anticipated its long andremarkable runas one of thebest andmost popular television showsin thehistory of themedium. From it's early daysto theexciting present, it's been one long thrillfor me, andI thinkfor audiencesas well. Enjoy!-
